Hey {{first_name|Bro}},

Recently, I was talking with one of my clients.

And we agreed on a sales call for 6:00 a.m. IST on Zoom. But it was supposed to be 6:00 a.m. Sydney time, according to the client.

We both get it wrong.

Now you’d say: “Bro, why didn’t you just send a Calendly link for clarity instead of doing it manually?”

That’s exactly where I slipped. I sent him the Zoom link and decided to join through this link, but I never had a call.

And when it was 6:00 a.m. of my time, I was about to join…

Then I see these three messages on my Instagram from my client:

  • “Where are you, Ashu?”

  • “I’ve been waiting for 5 minutes on the call.”

  • “You don’t respect anyone’s time.”

I quickly apologised and said to him my misunderstanding. But there’s no reply afterwards. And just like that, I lost a client.

So, the lesson is always to confirm the exact time and timezone. Cause your client could be from anywhere, and a simple misstep can lead you to lose.

Stay prepared. Stay clear. And keep moving forward, {{first_name|Bro}}.

Your Man
